Senate of France awards Medal of Honour to Director General of NCDR

WAM Abu Dhabi, Feb 25th, 2009 (WAM): The Senate of France and the Gulf -French Friendship Group awarded Director General of UAE's National Centre For Documentation and Research (NCDR) Abdullah Al Reyes, the Medal of Honour in recognition for his efforts in strengthening the cultural relations between UAE and France.
Al Reyes received the medal from the member of the Senate of France and Chairperson of the Friendship society Natalie Cole, who is currently visiting the country at the head of a French delegation.
The French ambassador to UAE Alain Azouaou was present.
Al Reyes thanked the French Senate and the Gulf-France Friendship Group for recognizing the role of documentation and archiving in the country.
He dedicated the medal to the departed soul of the founding father of the Nation late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, as well as to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the leaders of the country.
Established in 1968 in Abu Dhabi, NCDR was being supervised by different official bodies, and is now affiliated to the Ministry of Presidential Affairs. The oldest and largest documentation center in the Arabian Gulf collects and documents written and oral material on the UAE in particular, and the Arabian Gulf and the Arabian Peninsula in general.
