modern libraries are increasingly being redefined as places to get unrestricted access to information in many formats and from many sources

مصطلح المكتبات الحديث:
The term "library" has itself acquired a secondary meaning: "a collection of useful material for common use," and in this sense is used in fields such as computer science, mathematics and statistics, electronics and biology.

إدارة المكتبات:
Basic tasks in library management include the planning of acquisitions (which materials the library should acquire, by purchase or otherwise), library classification of acquired materials, preservation of materials (especially rare and fragile archival materials such as manuscripts)

مكتبة بريطانيا الوطنية:
The British Library (BL) is the national library of the United Kingdom. It is based in London and is one of the world's largest research libraries, holding over 150 million items in all known languages and formats; books, journals, newspapers, magazines, sound and music recordings, patents, databases, maps, stamps, prints, drawings and much more. Its book collection is second only to the American Library of Congress. The Library's collections include around 25 million books,[2] along with substantial additional collection of manuscripts and historical items dating back as far as 300 BC.
