Standardized Usage Statistics Harvesting
Initiative (SUSHI
The Standardized Usage Statistics Harvesting Initiative (SUSHI) Protocol standard (ANSI/NISO Z39.93-2007) defines an automated request and response model for the harvesting of electronic resource usage data utilizing a Web services framework. It is intended to replace the time-consuming user-mediated collection of usage data reports.
The protocol was designed to be both generalized and extensible, meaning it could be used to retrieve a variety of usage reports. An extension designed specifically to work with COUNTER reports is provided with the standard, as these are expected to be the most frequently retrieved usage reports.
The standard is built on SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) for transferring request and response messages. The GetReport method is used for transferring ReportRequest as the input message and returning ReportResponseas the output message.
The standard includes a versioned Web Services Description Language (WSDL), to describe the Web service namespace and operations, and a generalized XML schema with the syntax of the SUSHI protocol. Rules for report naming are outlined and complemented by an external reports registry, which provides for the definition of both COUNTER and non-COUNTER reports

OCLC
In 1967, a small group of library leaders believed that working together, they could find solutions to the day's most pressing issues facing libraries. They began with the idea of combining computer technology with library cooperation to reduce costs and improve services through shared, online cataloging.
Today, that idea of using technology to extend cooperation has grown into a worldwide organization in which almost 27,000 libraries, archives and museums in 171 countries are members. The shared cataloging service is among the busiest in the world, enabling libraries each year to catalog more than 197 million items. Cooperative advances have expanded to help libraries better manage workflows, collection management, reference services, resource sharing and digital materials. And tomorrow, new Web-scale services will amplify library cooperation even further.

Libraries recognize the power of sharing, accomplishing much more collectively than individually. Working together lowers costs, speeds workflows and reduces redundancy. Sharing resources expands impact and creates more value for library users. And a network mind-set fuels innovation and creates a unifying force for engaging other communities and supporting the public purpose of information access for all.
Libraries and OCLC will continue to find innovative ways to reinforce traditional values of library cooperation, working together for the common good. It is this approach that has kept our unique, member-owned and member-managed enterprise viable for more than 40 years.

SirsiDynix
Ingenuity wasn't born overnight.
For more than 30 years, libraries have used SirsiDynix technologies to bring the power of their collections to their communities. Our story began when Northwestern University developed a system to automate its library card catalogs in the 1960s. Since then, we have been a committed partner to libraries around the world, employing technology that allows librarians to do more that just keep track of their collection. Today, more than 23,000 library facilities in more than 70 countries use our products and services to bring the power of knowledge and information to 300 million users worldwide.
As stated in the American Library Association's 2010 State of America's Libraries Report, "The local library, a traditional source of free access to books, magazines, CDs and DVDs, has become a lifeline, offering technology training and workshops on topics that ranged from resume-writing to job-interview skills."
Libraries today are more than buildings full of books. As the needs of the people and communities they serve have substantially changed, libraries have rapidly responded. Because of their unchanging commitment to providing people access to information, libraries continue to be information leaders around the world. Every member of the SirsiDynix team is to be a part of that commitment, developing technologies that makes access to information possible in ways we never imagined.
SirsiDynix develops technology with the philosophy that the tools you use today should not hinder you from achieving your goals tomorrow. SirsiDynix is to create these industry-leading tools, for more libraries than any other vendor in the world, for the benefit of libraries and communities everywhere.

The Library Corporation (TLC
The Story of TLC

1974
TLC was founded in 1974 by the same family who owns and operates the company today - a family with a vision of exclusively serving libraries.
TLC originally provided MARCFICHE to libraries. Today's TLC is an international company with headquarters in Inwood, WV, and
offices in Denver, Colorado, and Singapore.

1985
In 1985, TLC was the first organization in the world to successfully apply CD-ROM technology to data storage. Libraries welcomed our first CD-ROM product, BiblioFile® Cataloging. It became the most popular desktop cataloging tool in the history of library technical services.

1987
TLC introduced the world's first multi-media CD-ROM OPAC, The Intelligent Catalog, in 1987.

1995
ITS.for Windows emerged as the successor to BiblioFile Cataloging. Its capabilities have won it thousands of users worldwide.

1997
TLC introduced LibrarySolution®, the fastest growing library automation system in the world. LibrarySolution's optional modules include LibraryAcquire (acquisitions), LibrarySerial (serials control), and LibraryBookings.

2000
In June of 2000, TLC acquired CARL Corporation, the developers of CARLSolution®, an integrated automation system used by the largest public libraries throughout the world.
Automation can be fun! TLC's KCweb is a fun interface for young patrons, with links to pre-selected Web sites. YouSeeMore offers patrons personalization, recommendations, reviews, and more!

2003
Online Selection & Acquisitions, introduced in 2003, is the collection development utility of the future with online access to everything a collection development professional needs.

2004
TLC introduced CARLX at ALA's Annual Conference in June. CARLX is a next-generation ILS that introduces new dimensions of finding, learning, and self-service. It showcases libraries' strengths and frees staff for core library functions. With CARLX, libraries can take advantage of the mature, sophisticated features of CARLSolution on an affordable UNIX®/Oracle® platform.

2005
TLC acquired majority stock shares of Tech Logic Corporation in White Bear Lake, MN. Tech Logic designs, manufactures, and installs book drops, belt conveyor delivery systems, inter-library distribution systems, stand-alone and free-standing patron reserve systems, as well as RFID and barcode check-in and check-out systems. The company's materials handling systems have revolutionized the way materials move throughout a library and its branches.

2006
TLC created Web Circ, a browser-based automation for schools and libraries. 2006 also marked the engineering of BiblioFile, a generational upgrade to TLC's suite of cataloging tools.

2008
TLC introduces LS2 PAC. LS2 PAC is a new search interface – "beautiful software" – that connects the library, the user, and the community.

2009
TLC releases LS2 Kids, a child-friendly version of LS2 PAC that offers the same powerful technology with new features oriented to younger library users. Also introduced is LS2 Circ, the successor to TLC's Web Circ that combines core library circulation functionality with the convenience of a Web-based product.
Today and Every Day
TLC provides an outstanding and unexpected level of service. You always talk to someone - not a machine -- when you call TLC. Service 24/7, unlimited toll-free assistance, online help, and a team of professional support technicians eager to help give you the outstanding service you deserve.
